What We Do

Penn Quant Trading Club has four teams: the Development Team, the Market Research Team, the Strategy Team, and the Graduate Student Team. Our more experienced and senior Advanced Team members deepen their skills while nurturing and broadening the talents of our Development Team members, such that we have a continuous and robust pipeline of talent.

Development Team

Provides training and networking opportunities to students interested in quantitative trading. Dev Team Members can attend a six-week curriculum in the fall and then apply to our Advanced Teams in the spring through a streamlined application.

Market Research Team

Covers worldwide financial markets, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies. Researches new companies for stock/bond teams, or some new indicator/information to be added to portfolio. Updates on previous portfolio.

Strategy & Graduate Student Teams

Writes trading strategies to execute in a simulated environment. Meetings organized by experience level for hands-on learning. Includes how to think of trading strategies, what to take into consideration, and how to backtest as rigorously as possible.
